Workspaces: add and switch account types

One Maxmove account can have several workspaces. How to add a driver, fleet, personal or business workspace, switch on the web and in the apps, and fix a wrong account type.

Written by the Maxmove team

In short: You don't need a second account. With one Maxmove account you can create one workspace of each type: Personal, Business, Driver and Fleet. If you picked the wrong type when you signed up, add the right workspace and switch to it.

Account and workspace

  • Your account is your login with an email address or phone number. It works on the web and in both apps.
  • A workspace is the area you work in. Which orders, features and settings you see depends on the active workspace.
Workspace What it's for App
Personal For personal use and small businesses Maxmove (customer app)
Business Book transport and deliveries for your company Maxmove (customer app)
Driver You drive yourself, with your own vehicle Maxmove Driver
Fleet For transport companies with drivers and vehicles, even if you drive too Maxmove Driver

On the web dashboard you can use all four types. You can create one workspace of each type yourself. You can also join another company's business or fleet workspace by invitation.

Switch on the web

  • The name of the active workspace is shown at the top of the dashboard. Click it and choose another workspace. On small screens, you find this selector in the menu.
  • Or open Settings → Workspaces. The active workspace is marked Active. For the others, click Switch.

Add a workspace on the web

  1. Open Settings → Workspaces.
  2. Click Add another workspace.
  3. Under Book transport & deliveries, choose "Personal" or "Business". Under Drive & earn, choose "Driver" or "Fleet".
  4. Follow the setup.

Only types you don't have yet are offered. Two special cases:

  • You run a fleet and choose "Driver": Maxmove first offers Drive in my fleet. Your jobs then appear under "My jobs", and you use a driver seat. If you'd rather drive separately from the fleet, with your own payouts, choose Create your own driver workspace.
  • You drive as a driver and choose "Fleet": You only need a fleet if you use other drivers or vehicles or have your own customers. You keep getting Maxmove jobs through your driver workspace. Start fleet creates the fleet anyway.

Switch and add in the driver app

The Maxmove Driver app shows driver and fleet workspaces.

  1. Tap the name of the active workspace at the top of your profile. In a fleet's Fleet control, you find it in the Home tab.
  2. Under Switch workspace, choose another workspace.
  3. Under Manage workspaces, create a missing driver or fleet workspace, or join a fleet with Join an existing fleet.

Personal and business workspaces open from there with Open Customer app. How to install the driver app is explained in Install and update the driver app.

Switch and add in the customer app

The Maxmove app shows personal and business workspaces.

  1. Tap the name of the active workspace at the top of the home screen.
  2. Under Switch workspace, choose another workspace. If you only have a personal workspace so far, Add business workspace creates a business workspace.
  3. Under Manage workspaces, you see all workspaces and can create a new one with Add workspace.

Driver and fleet workspaces open with Open Driver app.

Picked the wrong account type?

Sign in with the same email address or phone number and add the right workspace. You don't need a new account.

  • Signed up as a customer, but you want to drive: Add a driver workspace on the web or in the driver app. If you drive for a fleet, read Join a fleet and manage assignment status.
  • Signed up as a driver or fleet, but you want to book transport: Add a personal or business workspace on the web or in the customer app. In the customer app, tap Book transport anyway.
  • You no longer need the wrong workspace: Owners can remove it on the web under Settings → Workspace with Delete workspace. If Maxmove has to keep records, for example about orders or billing, the workspace is closed instead, or you request the closure.

If you're stuck, tell support which workspace type you want and which type you created.
