Start as a self-employed courier
First decide which goods you want to carry, with which vehicle and in which area. Then check the documents and insurance for that work. The requirements on the driver page help you get started. Permit questions depend on your specific operation, including the vehicle, trailer and any cross-border deliveries.

Is the job worthwhile after pickup travel and the return trip?
Before accepting, calculate the whole trip:
- distance to pickup, to delivery and back if needed
- time for travel, loading, waiting, delivery and unloading
- vehicle costs, parking and other job-related expenses
- a buffer before your next confirmed appointment
Illustrative calculation, not an earnings promise: An offer shows a €60 payout. You estimate 40 km for the full trip, including an empty return journey. At an assumed vehicle cost of €0.40/km, that costs €16. You have €44 left before other operating costs and taxes. If the full trip takes two hours, that is €22 per hour of your time before those further deductions. Use your actual costs; these example figures are neither Maxmove rates nor a forecast.
Higher pay does not automatically make a job better. Only count a follow-up job once confirmed, and only combine shipments when time windows, capacity and job terms allow it.
