Opel Vivaro: load area and load-space dimensions
All three lengths S, M and L compared — with door apertures, payload and the calculator that checks your furniture against the load space.
The Opel Vivaro's load space is 2,162 mm (S), 2,512 mm (M) or 2,862 mm (L) long depending on body length, and a consistent 1,636 mm wide and 1,397 mm high. Cargo volume runs from 4.6 to 6.1 m³; 1,258 mm remain between the wheel arches, so a Euro pallet fits crosswise.
Load-space dimensions in detail
| Body | Load length | Max interior width | Width between wheel arches | Max interior height | Load volume | Payload | Euro pallets | Loading metres | Rear aperture (W × H) | Sliding door (W × H) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| S | 2,162 mm | 1,636 mm | 1,258 mm | 1,397 mm | 4.6 m³ | 1,027–1,435 kg | 2 | 1.47 | 1,282 × 1,220 mm | 745 × 1,238 mm |
| M | 2,512 mm | 1,636 mm | 1,258 mm | 1,397 mm | 5.3 m³ | 1,042–1,422 kg | 3 | 1.71 | 1,282 × 1,220 mm | 935 × 1,241 mm |

All figures are manufacturer values for standard vehicles. Payload and height depend on engine, trim and body — your own vehicle registration document is what binds.
The Euro pallet figure follows floor geometry alone (1,200 × 800 mm). Payload and load securing remain binding in every case.
Will it fit?
Pick a body variant and what you want to move — the calculator checks the load space, the rear aperture and the payload.

The number that decides it is rarely in the table
Almost every Vivaro dimension table gives the load space's length, width and height. For the question of whether your furniture goes in, the rear aperture matters more: on the Vivaro it is 1,282 mm wide and 1,220 mm high — noticeably smaller than the 1,636 mm load space behind it.
A wardrobe that fits the load space on paper can still fail at the rear door. That is why our calculator checks the aperture first and the space behind it second.
Wheel arches: 1,258 mm is just enough for the pallet
There are 1,258 mm between the wheel arches. A Euro pallet measures 1,200 × 800 mm and therefore goes in crosswise — with 58 mm of clearance in total, so under 3 cm per side. On floor geometry the Vivaro S takes two Euro pallets and the M and L take three each.
That is pure geometry. Whether you may also load them is decided by payload — and at worst the L carries 953 kg, well under what three loaded pallets weigh.
Payload: the L carries the least
Vivaro payload runs from 953 to 1,435 kg depending on engine and gross vehicle weight. The longest Vivaro carries the least, because the heavier body comes off the payload.
So if you load heavy regularly, do not reach for the longest body by default. Your registration document binds: payload = gross vehicle weight minus actual kerb weight including driver and a full tank.
