Telematics combines telecommunications with data processing. In logistics, a vehicle device or driver app sends position and status events to a platform. The platform links them to vehicles, routes and orders for dispatch, customer updates and fleet operations.
From vehicle to decision
A typical flow has four steps: a device records a position or status; a mobile connection transmits it; the TMS assigns it to the correct order; and a rule updates a screen or sends a notification. A GPS point alone has little value until it is interpreted against the planned route.

Practical example
A vehicle is expected at 10:30. Its current position and route initially indicate 10:24. After twelve minutes without movement, the ETA changes to 10:39. Dispatch can notify the customer without calling the driver.
Fleet management can use telematics for mileage, deployment history and maintenance planning. Geofencing converts positions into entry and exit events.
Location data can be personal data, so purpose, access, retention and driver information must be defined. Radio gaps and delayed statuses also need operational handling. Maxmove connects telematics events with the related transport order; the source and freshness of the data remain decisive.
