Transport documents

In a pallet exchange, reusable load carriers such as Euro pallets are returned at collection or delivery, or posted to an account. Type, quantity, condition and booking direction must be clear.

Simple balance calculation

A driver delivers 14 exchangeable Euro pallets and receives nine empty pallets. The open balance is five pallets in favour of the delivering company. Two damaged returns only count if they meet the agreed quality standard.

Required receipt details

The pallet receipt identifies order, place, date, pallet type, quantities given and received, rejected units and confirming parties. “Balance 5” without naming the direction is a common source of disputes.

The exchange is distinct from a delivery note, which describes the goods rather than their load carriers. A TMS can let the driver app record the movement at the stop. Maxmove connects it with the order and location so open balances do not need to be reconstructed from paper.
