TMS & dispatch

Automated dispatch assigns transport orders to suitable drivers, vehicles and routes using rules and current operational data. It accelerates repeatable checks while operational responsibility remains with dispatch.

A typical decision flow

Unsuitable options are excluded first: a vehicle is too small, a driver is unavailable or a time window cannot be met. The remaining combinations are scored by detour, cost, punctuality and vehicle utilisation. The system proposes the best feasible assignment and shows its expected effect.

Example: one urgent order

Vehicle A is eight kilometres from collection but only has half a pallet position left. Vehicle B is twelve kilometres away, has enough capacity and will travel towards the destination after its next stop. A nearest-vehicle rule would pick A. A sound workflow excludes A on capacity and proposes B.

Rules, optimisation and control

Fixed rules protect must-have conditions such as refrigeration, tail lift or driver qualification. Route optimisation can then score feasible sequences. People still need to intervene when a new disruption, customer agreement or unrecorded site restriction changes the decision.

Good software explains not only which assignment it proposes, but why. This also helps teams discover incorrect master data.

A TMS connects orders, vehicle data, driver status and routes. Maxmove can turn these inputs into reviewable assignment and route proposals. Their quality still depends on complete, current input data.
